In my home town Solan we have been using BSNL broadband internet connection from more than 10 years and have been a satisfied customer since then. One thing I have noted that it has got pretty low ratings which mainly depends upon the personal issues related to a particular area. While staying in Delhi and Pune for a while I have always opted for Non- BSNL services simply because the time taken to install the service is much longer compared to other service providers.
However in my home town since we have been using the BSNL landline from a long time so it made sense to have the internet connection from the same service provider. I have been using the plan ULD 795 which gives me a speed upto 2 Mbps TILL 8 GB usage and after that 512 Kbps. This has been sufficient for me in-spite the fact that I do download Movies from time to time and also songs from various websites.
I watch a lot of YouTube videos too since I have subscribed to various YouTube channels for entertainment and learning purposes and I don’t face any major issues in buffering. You see at one point of time I have my Twitter page, Facebook page, some news website and cricket website opened at the same time and I don’t find any hassles in surfing through it.
I have yet to face any major breakdown of service because I have faced maximum of 2 to 5 minutes of connectivity issues that too occasionally once a month. I understand with the other reviewers who have given some low ratings but In Himachal Pradesh the service has been impeccable and I don’t find any reason to switch over my broadband connection to other provider. One has to chose a service provider based on their performance in one’s particular area irrespective of the reputation of the brand. There might be some cases where the other service providers might have failed in one region and may be brilliant in some other region. For the place like Himachal Pradesh this traditional govt service comes out with flying colors.
