BSNL has become a joke with the speeds they provide and the rate they charge. They charge 2k for 100gb at 4mbps. Whereas my present act connection has an FUP of 75gb at 50mbps for around 1.8k. Before ACT, Tikona and others came into the picture, I had to rely on BSNL like many others. They gave me promised speed but their plans consisted of such low speeds that anyone could provide them. The only reason they are surviving is their coverage area. They are everywhere. Even if no other operators can provide in a particular area, BSNL will. And many a times coz of this coverage, their service is not up to the mark. Everyone wants high speeds now and BSNL has to up their ante to hold themselves in the game.
