Good Product No Service !!

I wanted to go in for CellOne, but never got to buy it. everytime I approached BSNL, they were perennially out of stock of SIM cards of both CellOne and Excel. CellOne seems to be being sold now and then as whenever I ask, they give a standard reply that ’it will come in 10 days’ and for Excel ’it will come by next month’. The customer service exceutives do not know/have even the list of dealers, leave alone the stock position at the dealer end.

the product is good. the coverage is good. Decently reliable. real value for money among the GSM players (bit costlier compared to CDMA). But availability and service are almost near zero.

Go for CellOne/ Excel if you are too keen on GSM. You have better alternatives under CDMA (Tata Indicom/ Reliance Indiamobile)

(hey.. there is a romour that the employees keep the customers off so that the organisation is put on the block for sale/ privatisation so that they can get a better pay packet/ VRS. Are the higherups watching ?/)
