I am a proud user of CellOne. And the reasons are, best coverage and honest billing.
I am a BSNL user since the last 5 years. I have also been carrying a second mobile phone which was Airtel initially and IDEA recently. BSNL does not have the kind of value added services that other operators offer. These value added service are generally appreciating to the young brigade. A serious mobile user will only be keen on the coverage, clarity and billing only.
Talk plans and tariffs of BSNL are relatively simple and easy to understand. An average user whose billvalue is below Rs.1000 will find Plan-325 good enough and an average user who spends around Rs.2000 will find Plan-525 attractive for him. All other plans cater to specific requirements. For example Plan 123 for a low end user, Plan 725 if your need is to make unlimited calls to some BSNL numbers etc.
Recently BSNL provided a free extra SIM which they call Jody SIM, and a second free SIM by name JODY Plus. All calls between the 3 SIMs are free. Also each SIM gets a tariff or 20ps/min to one BSNL mobile and One BSNL land line. So overall unlimited free calls between three family members and low cost calls to 6 more dear or near. The Rs.300 worth free calls offered in Plan-525 makes it more economical. Over all my expense has reduced by 30% after getting these Jodi sims. A major advantage of CellOne is that you are not much disturbed by their promotional calls.
Among the negetives. One is that my registration for DNC did not make much results. Another is the orthodox customer support system. For most of your requirements, you will have to wate your time at their counters and also provide them ID card copies with every request
