I have recently opted for the Start-up Plan of Rs.250/-p.m. offered by BSNL / Dataone to its telephone subscribers at Pune and I feel constrained to report that having obtained their service, I soon found that I could neither access my account usage over a period nor do they ever display a Warning that the the download permitted under their initial Start-up Plan of Rs.250/- has been exhausted by the user and he may have to pay more for further usage! I also found that I could not change the password supplied by them! I was invariably shown as timed out whenever I tried to secure such information. Thereafter I was saddled with a huge Bill of Rs.3500/-(approx.) for a months usage when the hours that I was on the internet would have cost me not more than double or treble the amount of Rs.250/-, had I used the services of a Cyber Cafe as I was doing before I went for their Plan. I have paid the said amount under protest, but till now no one has come forward to check what my problem is! I was afraid of what the next Bill would be like! Hence, I have apart from a complaint letter in writing, given them a notice to terminate their services by the end of three months when the minimum period lapses. There seems very little one could do in such cases when a large Public Sector Corporation seems to indulge in taking its customers for an expensive ride! I hope this experience of mine acts as a Warning to other novices. Thanks a lot for allowing me to write this review of my experience with BSNLs Dataone Broasdband Internet facility.
