I just adapted dataone connection in April 2006 and experienced too many problems exist with BSNL. I will not recommend anyone to adapt bsnl until they don’t have other options. like me I don’t have any other service provider in my area. The experience I have received with BSNL may not be for all users of bsnl. Now I am going to tell you entire story of bsnl.
1)
i did plug-in with dsl after waiting time of more then a month of submitting application. On inquiry, nobody is going to tell what is the status of the application. this is the major problem with the bsnl. you just have to apply and forget and left it on good.

Untrained Staff - in June 2006 I have decided to change my plan from 250 to 900 unlimited plan. at 3 rd day of application my connection stopped working. I lodge complaint and did not hear back from bsnl till 5 day. Then I decide to go to bsnl office to inquire the what has happened. After 10 days of I got why my connection not working. Bsnl had issued disconnection order instead of issuing plan change order. Again I complaint for this from high authority about this issue. I got reconnected my connection after 15 days. This was the end of my patience. I loosed 15 day for just a mistake of bsnl clerk.

Very limited plan in comparison with other service provider. I loose 1000 bucks every month. This can be minimized to 400 bucks in case of airtel. 64 kbps is enough for single PC.
The summery is not to opt BSNL until you have no option other then bsnl.
