Am in west mambalam, K K Nagar extension.I have applied for the broadband Home 500 connection in Kodambakkam customer care center . At the time of registering they said I will get it in 15 days.After 15 days, I went there, they routed me to K K Nagar bsnl customer care saying "we just do the registration here, you have to contact the 9th avenue bsnl office.
Again 9th avenue bsnl persons asked me to contact K K Nagar office.
At K K Nagar, I was surprised when they said "for the sake of registration they would have said it, but actually it will take another 1 month as the ID and PW are created for the port "only in Bangalore". Your id and pw are yet to come. After that, we need to configure your modem.
Then only when the bsnl installation persons are free, they will come to your place or else you can take the modem and connect it on your own if you know how to do it. So they made it very clear that all have to wait for their turn and currently those who have applied 1.5 months back are getting the lines.
What I dont understand is, to create id and pw , why the chennai bsnl is sending all the applications to bangalore and why not they can do it in chennai. If they have no facility, they can easily create one in chennai. what is there in Bangalore which we cannot have in chennai itself?
Waiting for more days, I didnt get any reply from BSNL. So I asked them to cancel my application and just called up Airtel broadband. Again I was surprised in the speed they react. With in half an hour, the person came to my place, collected the relevant documents and immediately arranged for the registration by getting a Rs.500 cheque. With in two days I got the connection and it has decent speed. Even it is 750 pm, it gives unlimited access and no download limits.
After some days, bsnl person called me up and said the modem is ready. it will be given now and the connectivity will be given in a week. I had no other go other than to say no and that I shall reapply again later.
I prefer, for those who need immediate internet connection have to go for Airtel. Since it gives unlimited internet access, no one can claim that airtel will bill more for the usage.
Those who have no urgency and can wait for bsnl.
