I am on the Home 500 Plan which costs Rs 500 per month + a modem rental of Rs 100 (which you can avoid by outright purchase for Rs 1200) and offers a Download Limit of 1 GB per month.
Also Night Surfing i.e 2am to 8 am is free!!!
So far I have had connectivity problems only twice and that too because of the technical snag at the Exchange and was rectified within 8-10 Hrs
And the Customer Care is pretty good for a Sarkari Company much better than the Hathway’s, Sify etc..
The speed and Connectivity is always great. I use a Bandwith monitor Software to keep track of the Download/Uploads & it displays the monthly usage on the desktop.
Also outgoing connections on various ports are not blocked.
Yes there had been a excess billing problem long back Probably during Aug & Sep -2005 & I was also a victim of this, but after submitting the print outs of the usage details, the bill adjustment was made very promptly in the coming months!!!!
Yes its true that in some cities ther is the problem of Bandwidth Theft!
Otherwise I dont see any other ISP coming even close to BSNL in terms of Connectivity & Speed and most important COST!!
Most of my friends & Relatives are using different ISP like Airtel, Sify, Data Access, hathway etc all of which sucks big time.
