I am using BSNL dataone broadband from past 3 years, and I must say that it has not disappointed me.
The plan I m using is H500 and I get 2.5 GB of free transfer with free night ( i.e. from 2-8, which is bit harsh, as no one will ruin his night for using internet).
The speed, 2mbps is impressive, and the downloading speed is also v good, the quickest I have used so far, and it impressed me when I was downloading a song, that was of 6 mb, believe me, it just took 6 seconds to download, that means the speed touched 1mbps.
I was shocked to see that, and I know its really hard to believe, and now, after 2 years of that unexpected incident, I have not seen anything like that again, but still you get to download a 5-6 mb file in under 60 seconds which is very quick. The service however is as bad as, as good as its speed is, and no one will pick up ur call and if some one does, they will sound like the watchman sitting and speaking over the phone, Redicoulous.
But as it is expected with the govt. service in India.I would love to increase my speed to 8mbps which is so far available in Business plans only. The positive part is that, the Speed and the data transfer @ this cost is unbelievable, and if u run out of space befor the month, just wake up @ se7en and check ur mails ;) Other companies are too expensive, airtel’s broadband plan of 500 per month gives u 2 mbps speed and I guess data transfer of aboot 2.5 or 3 gb per month, but no free nights, so thats bad.
I would definitly recomend it if u r cost concious and not worried about the service much, but I m quite lucky that I did not have much problems apart from few, and that too not big since I m using this service. I would say, it is Great (Speed, Low Cost) Good(Free Nights) Fine ( 2.5 gb free ) and bad (Service) in itself.
