After having used BSNL Internet service for 8+ years, have discontinued their service finally.
Pros
Works well at lower speeds(256 kbps)
Almost~ 99% reliable and doesnt disconnect at lower speed
Cons.
Needed to upgrade to 2 Mbps finally but experienced frequent disconnects with ADSL and wireless modems(Complaint registered was kindly closed mentioning that they had server issue+ lack of latest modems to cater to high speeds)
Lengthy procedure to disconnect the broadband service. First you go to the nearby regional office and provide a letter. If you have rented a modem, you need to go after 1 week to another office and then ask/request/beg for "Surrender certificate". Return back to the regional office and then provide the certificate to effect stoppage of billing
Frankly, wouldnt recommend BSNL service if you want fast access - there are other options in the market - survey & ask your area friends.
