Buhari’s Restaurant is one of my favourite places .
This is one of the places, I don’t want to miss, whenever I am in India . Ofcourse , Chennai is the place where I am originally from and Buhari’s is also in Chennai .
Buhari’s Restaurant is located in a very busy place and you will find it always crowded. It is still the same old building . I don’t see any noticeable improvement there .
I have been acquainted with ’Buhari’s’ from my childhood days. Whenever my parents did some shopping at ’Mount Road ’ , ( now known as Anna Salai )they made it a point to stop at Buhari’s for lunch. We used to enjoy the food there , especially the chicken and mutton biryani.
Buhari’s biryani is very famous . It has a special flavour and taste which has to be experienced to believe !
They still have great reputation just for the quality of biriyani and tasty samosas . They make vegetarian as well as non-veg samosas.
Rooms are rather small as compared to other quality restaurants. Last time when I went, I had to wait due to big crowd . I remember taking take away parcels .Reservations are not necessary to go there . They have family rooms , and if you found one when you happen to be there , then you are lucky ! There are not many rooms !
If you happen to be in Madras anytime , it is worth giving it a try at Buhari’s . I am sure you will enjoy their food like me.
They have a snack section also now , with lots of sweets and savouries to choose from!
