I am really feeling proud writing this review for my "bullu" ( My month-old machismo). I just entered into the thumping world of RE just a month back and it feels really great to be a part of the RE family.
The first bike I owned was a Pulsar 150 from which I had sucked in the juice by driving it for around 72000 kms in a period of 3 years. I was completely satisfied by its performance and comfort until I drove my pulsar to a nearby place which was very straining on the engine. The trip consisted of 4 REs with 3 pulsars and I was mesmerized by the way bulls completed the uphill task without a fuzz. Thats when my eyes fell on the bull.
I never looked back at any other option before buying my Bull. It was its sheer pleasure which pulled me towards it. Although I had to wait for 5 long weeks to get the Bull, I felt it was really worth the wait. Let me describe my bull a bit:
It really suits the companys tag line " made like a gun, goes like a bullet".
Its an absolute sensation to sit on her and start off your drive with a thundering kick on the kick starter. The bike roars to power instantaneously and you are on song on the road. This head turner really turns the heads of every person on the road.
Although the ride quality was a bit shaky within the first 500 kms, the first service did wonders to the bike. Now she runs like butter.
You really feel you are from a different biking world when you sit on the Bull. Its an awesome feeling which can be cherished for years to come by...
Here are some of the fact files about the machismo;
PROs:
Amazing stability
Flawless load carrying ability
Superb road grip
Majestic riding position.
Awesome suspensions
Excellent turning radius ( in spite of the large wheel base )
Decent mileage ( gives me 42-43 consistently )
AVL engine burns fuel flawlessly need not wait for the pickup as in case of cast iron engines
The lights: gives u astonishing visibility through every corner of the road.
10 Lastly the looks: It’s made up of an all chrome body which turns the heads of the on lookers. People find it difficult to take their eyes of it.
No one is perfect and so is the Bull. So here are some CONs:
It definitely lacks the traditional Thumping sound of the Bullet
Oil leakage; doesnt matter, the Bull doesnt leak oil, it marks its territory.
Some advice which I would like to pass on:
Treat BULLET as BULLET and not like a pulsar or a karizma...You will repent if you do that.
Take care of your bike and it will always take care of you.
Some of the modifications which I am planning:
Replace the silencer with a short one ( that of a standard)
Put on a K&N air filter, although it costs 3k, its really worth it, it would really improve the engine efficiency and gives u a better thump.
Saddle bags: Planning to put in weather proof saddle bags from Cramster which would look amazing on the vehicle including serving the real purpose of the saddle bag.
Leg guards: this would really help the pillion in sitting comfort along with safety.
My recommendations:
I would seriously recommend a Bull for the ones who can treat their bikes like their babies. If you cannot maintain it forget about buying it.
Its not for people who want to overtake small mopeds and bikes on the road, Its more for its royal feeling
So to anyone going for a Machismo, go ahead don’t think. It is the best in India for now. Go ahead, make yourself feel special.
Buy the bike if you are thinking to do so, this I bet would be the last bike you would buy in your life.
