Raging BULL

Hi All,

I am a proud bulleter and would like to share my feelings with you all. I call him JUGNEE -- JOGNEE--The Adventurer. My companion in all the adventures till now.

Royal Enfield Machismo is a true BULL, consider it’s looks from driving to parked, the thumping sound it generates when at peak or it’s ride. They all are awesome.

Driving and owning a Bullet is not like owning any bike. You have to have the passion for keeping, riding and caring the BULLET.

Although, Machismo is a bit different from his siblings, following the changes done to the Gear and Brake mechanism, and altering the sensuous thumping sound to the sound of bubbles coming out a tilted inverted mug in a bucket full of water. Whatever, the changes done are also good. It has the ability to compete with vroom bikes in terms of pickup, mileage and got the looks to keep everybody glued.

I had a dream of owning a BULLET since I started biking. But due to restrictions of driving a heavy bike by my parents, I had to go in for Suzuki Shogun for a while. But that period was also too cool. It’s a different passion, all I would say.

Finally, when I graduated, I got a chance to own the BULLET. I always wanted to go for BULLET Standard and customizing it with Alloys and altering the muffler, but when I landed at BULLET’s arena, a showroom of one of our family friends, they recommended BULLET Machismo. It was newly launchd at that time, ummmmmm Jul 2004, and was getting good feedback considering the maintenance and mileage given. Moreover, I had to take my BULL to Delhi, so Machismo gained a lot of points.

And not to say, he is the most handsome among all his brothers. That nickel look reflects you when standing in front of it, which pumps up the blood to a new height.

My first ride was of a 250 Kms. stretch from Patiala to Delhi, and that was done in 5 hours, keeping the needle below 60 and above 50. Our frequencies met on the G.T. Road, and since then we are one. I know when he wants a visit to the Mechanic.

Of all this pros, he has few cons too. Like its sound, which similarizes to that of a Turbine, whenever I cross the 80’s mark. Seems it will blast one day. Secondly, the Tappit and Cams adjustment and caliberation. Just a little bit of play with Tappit Valve, and they tear off, and the engine starts giving the sound like that of a Taurus, the BULLET’s Diesel variant.

I have encountered this problem once, and it was all my fault. I didnt liked the turbine like sound made by JOGNEE, so I got the Tappits tight so as to reduce the noise. It also increased the pickup. But within a month, the awry sound started coming. I had to get the Tappit valves, Timing garrari’s and Cams changed. It took all day at Mayapuri, where all this types of jobs are done. Since then, I never played with Tappit valves, and they are loose thereafter.

Thirdly, the thumping sound doesnt have much thump in it, as I mentioned earlier. So, I took the BULL to a welder, and got the jaali’s inside the Silencer tampered. The Welder took a long screwdriver and broke 3 out of 5 jaali’s. Oh Boy, BULL started generating a lovely sound. The potato sound. And it also gives some blastic sounds when I take my hand off the throttle. The feeling is awesome.

In the end, I would say that if you guys wanna go in for a BULLET, choose wisely as all the models have pros and cons. Standard has the point system which gives some problems during Rains. Electra was a good one, till the mechanism is changed to 5 speed. It gives some gear shifting problems. The GearBox is not so good, as of Machismo. Among the ThunderBird and Machismo, the only difference is of looks. Engine is same. So, the looks are the only source of confusion. The only one left is BULLET 500, which is like the Grand among all. It’s a nice one, and you feel the 500 CC’s under ur butts. The only thing negative, Mileage, which has to decrease for a desired increase in performance.

So guys, its upto you which one do you want. But do take the opportunity to drive a BULLET once in a lifetime. I bet, you will love those moments which will dig a desire inside you, to own one some day, and getting lost on an Endless Road.

ciao,

Keep the Blood pumping and Hearts thumping.
