Coming from the UK where the car is king I was surprised when I arrived in india and everyone went about on bikes. I spent the summer in bangalore and surrounding areas going about on my friends enfield, which is a great bike that reminds me of classic enfields that would cost upwards of 400000 rupees in britain. knowing that it is nowhere near that expensive I thought it was powerful well built and comfortable. not being an experienced rider I noticed that in the rain it becomes a bit unpredictable and the back wheel slides about a bit.obviously meant more for cruising. Herein lies my problem. Bikes in india seem like one person death wishes, the car is a much safer bet, maybe you can tell me different, but I did get the sad news that my friend had been killed in an early morning accident on his enfield a month after I came home, which as well as being tragic tends to reinforce my point, which is a shame because they are great machines that can be great fun to go about on.
