I should not have been writing this article for I dont ride a bike now ( sold it off after my college years) and now as a average working indian own a car, but my days with the enfield machismo compelled me to. To start with THIS BIKE is no APACHE, PULSAR, CBZ, XYZ or any other wannabe brand trying to create a macho feel into their product by fancy advertising (daredevil stunts, wooing a girl by drawing a flower on road).Enfield machismo needs no introduction. It is the definitive piece of motorcycle. All your complaints about the oil leakage problems (which is noteable in all enfield products) go up in a smoke once you kick start and take it on the road. Dont expect it to perform on city street , coz you wont be able to harness the power of the engine. On a highway or long journeys it is where it shows why it is THE BIKE.
You feel the raw power (not to forget the distinctive BULLET engine sound which itself makes people give way ), the acceleration, handling and horsepower . youll simple love it once you take it to long journeys all alone .Its just the bike and you .
Some words of caution
enfield , unlike other bikes demands high maintainence costs, coz the spares and mechanics are much lesser and costlier than other bikes.
you need to convince you dad that you can actually handle the bike
Dont expect woman to swoon over you .its the men who look at the one are green with envy(remember the onida punchline neighbours envy , owners pride) who rides the bullet.
