Hello friends,
i am new to ms and I like this community!
i returned from overseas recently and am passionate about bikes and cars.
during my many visits to national parks in north america, I would gaze at the harleys riding in groups, and feel pangs of sadness... because we in india could never ride and own these kinds of magnificent machines.
until now!! our very own desi british classic maker, royal enfield, has come up with the desi version of the harley. which makes us, desi hoggers! by the way, hog is the acronym for harley owners group, the harley club.
i bought the enfield thunderbird in early november. the familiar ghosts of the old bullet still hover around the bird: the oil leaks, the frequent maintenance and whimsical starts. but I would honestly say that the tbird flies miles above its other two wheeled bretheren in india! the long wheelbase, the famous long-stroke 350cc thumpin single, and legendary high speed handling -- all this with great cruiser styling!! this bike is for die-hard fans of long distance leisure biking. if you are looking for a daily point to point commuter, this bike is not for you. if you are not passionate about bikes and bike riding, think carefully too.
i live in bangalore, and have joined a tbird club recently. shall keep you posted on the bird as it scales greater heights!
