The beast

Bought a bullet thunderbird 3 months back . It was time to upgrade the

CBZ that I owned previously . Although the CBZ is high on reliabilty

what is lacks is sheer power . Wanted the most powerful Indian

manufactured bike. Also I do Mumbai - Pune a lot .This is what I

feel  - mind u I am looking only for a cruiser and ride

comfort  and not for fuel economy .

Pros -

Just simply smooth ride at 60-80 kmph . The feeling also was different

and good when I first rode the vehicle. This was missing in my previous

bike. Although the vehicle weighs in at a good 167 kgs it does not

really feel so while cruising . I would say that this is the true

indian cruiser.I dont think any Indian bike can match this cruising feel and this is the USP. I cannot comment on foreign bikes.

Also I think given the 350 cc engine the fuel economy is really good .

Cons -

Lots of work here. There is a constant leakage from the engine (engine

oil???)which I have got repaired twice .Hopefully it wont leak once

more. More work needs to be done on the breaking system , in spite of

having a disk breaks , I have to start breaking b4 to prevent a

collision!

Altho I think seating position is really good the pillion rider seems

to have constant cramps . I really dont know what the cause seems to be

.

I was expecting the engine to cruise at even 100 . This is not the case

. Seems like after 85 the engine seems to be kind of

struggling{grunting!!!) to match up altho it does go up to 100-105kmph.

Would I recommend it to anyone . Surely . I dont think there is

any option here given the pathetic state of Indian motorcycles .We are

still manufacturing engines which are 100ccs . This is shameful.

Bye
