I loved this movie!! Its been so long since I have watched a funny, entertaining, well-acted, well-directed Hindi movie, and after so long have there been songs worth watching and listening to! I know some people did not like this movie, and I am surprised! Just so you know, I like both art and funny movies. This movie was definitely refreshing! Well, there was no story to speak of, and no real plot. But it is a total entertainer. I would suggest that you leave your mind behind and just have fun.
The ’story’ is about Bunty and Babli, two con artists, who meet, con people, and fall in love. Amitabh, a cop, is after them, but when the former 2 decide to change for the better, he lets them go. I did not like the dialogues between father and son. They reminded me of old movies where real father and son interact in reel and subtly keep hinting that they are father and son in real life. It just seems ridiculous!
Anyways, back to the ’story’. In the end, Bunty and Babli become consultants and help Amitabh catch cons. The funniest part was where Abhishek wore a safari suit and tried to sell the Taj Mahal to the phirangi. I found that whole idea so funny! Had the phirangi been an American, I would have believed that he would do such a thing...
