An Absurd Movie.....

I am afraid, I might be airing a view which may not get too many appreciators. I normally do not see movies in theatres. I made an exception, because of the high level publicity that surrounded this particular film. The whole film is based upon make beliefs, where the mail protagonists, Abhishek Bachchan & Rani Mukherjee (i.e. Bunty & Babli) are seen to be capable of fooling the best brains and getting away with crimes, both small and large. Other than the pleasant personalities of these two principal actors, there is hardly anything to rave about in this film. The music is pedestrian and the direction is lack lusture, to say the least. Even the Big B seems to be wasted in an absolutely trivial role.

For spectators, who prefer not to think, this movie may provide a lot of entertainment, but if you try to apply any rational analysis, you fall flat on the face with this kind of movies. For all I know, this film has been declared a winner at the Box Office. Fortunately, crudity or vulgarity also have not found place in this film, which may be one of the redeeming features.

To think that the house of Yash Chopra is behind such a creation defiles his position from the high pedestal, he put himself with his earlier productions. I am reminded of films like Lamhen from the same stable really impressing one and all (though not many saw this film) who happened to see it.
