I am a huge Rani fan and boy, am I proud of her achievements !! She is undoubtedly the best actress of the genre. ’Hum Tum’, ’Yuva’, ’Veer Zaara’, ’Black’ and now ’Bunty aur Babli’ - is there anything she can’t do? I am so looking forward to ’Paheli’ and ’The Rising’. Enough is never enough when it comes to Rani but I guess I should talk more about the movie now.
The reviews have been mixed - and I do understand that people had high expectations of the movie - because of the star cast, Yash Chopra and what not. The cast definitely does not disappoint you - in fact, it is the performances that keep it alive and interesting throughout. I eagerly waited for the movie and am certainly not disappointed - from the previews and news generated before the release I did expect a fun comedy(and there are unrealistic situations in all comedies.. can’t take them too seriously). - and that is what I got.
The songs are not too great but aren’t too bad either. I loved the rap number performed by Amitabh - and am glad it was during the end credits instead of stuck somewhere in the movie - good move !! The only part which was totally undigestable was the pregnant babli running around and then delivering the baby and back on the run again - but again - who cares.
It is a fun movie and I guarantee if not anything - you will appreciate the performances. Don’t miss it if you are a rani or abhishek fan.
