Not that bubbly

Bunty aur Babli promised more but delivered less.

Story: Two youngsters who belong to small towns and want to make it big in life find that the world is not a bed of roses. Abhishek has a plan to open a mutual fund kind of a thing but loses out when an investor takes away his investors’ list. Rani wants to participate in Miss India contest but is really disturbed when an organizing committee member asks for sexual favours.

Then, both of them gang up and start fooling people to make money. They become national heroes and police is clueless on how to catch them. Finally, Dashrath Singh (Amitabh Bachchan) is given the task to nab them. He finally does catch them but after they have already left the fooling business.

After three long years, he comes back and asks them to accompany police to help nab the criminals. The last scene reminds of ‘Catch me if you can’ wherein Tom Hanks asks Abagnale (Leonardo De Caprio) to use his sharp mind to clean up the crime.

Overview: The movie is not very fast paced and seems to sag a little at many places. The fooling techniques employed by them are innovative and makes the audience laugh. The selling of Taj Mahal prank is a cut above the rest.

Abhishek Bachchan has finally arrived and has done a great job. He has shown that he can do comedy roles too. His chemistry with Rani is amazing. Rani has once again proven her talent as an actress. She delivers fluent Punjabi and keeps throwing the ‘Behan da Takka’ gaali.

Amitabh Bachchan is a big plus. As a bihari, he sports good bihari accent and keeps smoking off his bidi. His presence is most of the times accompanied by MI music in the background.

The Aishwariya Rai number has been just thrown in as a glamour add on.

Basically, an entertainer but 3 hours get a little strechy.
