I purchased butterfly mixer because it is the only mixter / grinder with with 1 HP Motor in the market and has great shining looks. Also I am using butterfly wet grinder for last 10 years without any complaint. But I found that the product is inferior to say Preethi or Prestige because-
1) The rubber gaskets on the lid become loose and gets worn off within 3 months. You need to take out the gasket since it collects lots of food particles underneath. The make of rubber gaskets on the lids of the grinder of Preethi and Prestige are of much better quality. Even if you take it out and wash they fit again, whereas for butterfly it becomes loose and will not fit in place.
2) The one hp motor went dead within 2 YEARS year of use. I had discarded my only Preethi Mixie but kept it out in the balcony. When butterfly went dead, I though I will try Preethi again till I buy a new one. I found that Preethi works very well even though it was kept out in hot sun at 43 degrees and it was performing better than butterfly and there was no need to buy a new one.
3) The jar handles of butterfly come out and become loose within 3 months. Whereas Preeti the handles are solid strong. They don’t break or come out of the jar.
4) Trust me Preethi is a much better mixie than Butterfly based on my experience.
