AMD or Intel

I am just trying to give u individual pros and cons with reference to both the Giants.

Intel: Advantages

Variety of Processors available

Variety of Motherboards Available

Warranty Support

Strongest Dealer Network in India

Quick Replacements

and Most of all lesser failure ratio

Intel: Dis-Advantages

High Price Tags. Take a small comparison. Today a Pentium 4 1.7Ghz CPU is available for a price of 7250Rs. Apprx. You will be able to get a AMD 1.7Ghz Processor and a MSI Motherboard with onboard AGP and Sound will cost you 3500+3500=7000Rs Only.

Very High Price tags when u want to select a specific solution like a Reliable Motherboard with Separate AGP Slot and DDRMemory Support

Asus A7N266 Motherboard with onboard N-Vidia Geforce 2 Go Graphic Processing Unit and N-Vidia Audio Processor with Dolby Digital Output with 5 Channel Audio Output and a Separate AGP 4X Slot for future expansion with DDR Memory Support will just cost 4250/- to the max. 2 Ghz CPU may cost you around 4950/- Now thats what you call as a Deal.

AMD Disadvantages

Warranty Replacement. If there’s a failure, you will have to give the CPU to your vendor and will have to wait for atleast a week to receive a replacement.

AMD Does not possess a that powerful dealer network as intel does

AMD Says it’s processors run on Quantispeed Architecture. That is a 1.533 Ghz processor is overclocked to run at 1.7Ghz. The next time you visit a Computer mall make sure you take the AMD CPU Pack and read it completely.

AMD has fixed the heating problem by supplying thr certified fans along with the CPU

AMD Processors rely on other manufacturers for the Motherboard chipset. Popular brands are VIA, N-Vidia and SiS. Whereas, Intel Manufactures it’s own chipsets adding to the other chipsets, also available in the market.

If you are looking at Reliable, Hassle Free System, look at the intel range but make sure you get the PC configured according to your application by an expert. If you are a real Techie Jack who want to try out a beast.Go for AMD.
