Beware of Toshiba service! I took my under warranty Toshiba laptop for service. Other than a sound card, it needed replacement of adaptor. Guess what I have been told I have to wait for 6 weeks! Without the adaptor, one cant use the laptop besides as an added bonus 1.5 months gets shaved off the warranty period offered by Toshiba!
Toshiba has a response centre at Singapore however no one responds.Guess what, when I asked them for the Toshiba servvice centre number in Delhi NCR, they gave me numbers on which there was no response. When called again, I got the fax number! When Singapore global office was disturbed again, they gave HCL service centre number. HCL service centre very politely told me they service only HCL Laptops! Is HCL taking over Toshiba?!
When I asked the Singapore Toshiba office why getting an adaptor should take 6 weeks, they said that parts are specific to a particular model. I found it very strange specially because the adaptors available at the service centre in Noida where working well on my laptop. This simply indicates that adaptors are not changed very freuquently though other parts are changed.
Since the serivce is managed by HCL, I guess one can expect similar standards from HCL.
In any case 4 weeks are over now and I wait for 6 weeks to get over.
