I purhased photon+ on 20th May and it was activated by the 22nd. The installation is a breeze. The tata indcom engineer visits your place to verify the address and to activate it. This takes 10 minutes. I got the following speeds at Annanagar, Chennai.
evening 7.p.m - 966kpbs
night 11.p.m. - 1350kpbs
morning 8.00a.m.-1988kpbs
These tests were performed on https://speedtest.net. So far so good. I am hoping that it will improve or at least remain so fast at least. The main advantage is that the point of contact with the service provider’s customer care is reduced. I had wireline broadband of tata and thier customer care is pathetic. Even photon’s customer care is a nightmare even to access. But at least there are no cables that will snap so as to put you at thier mercy.
I expect that as the subscriber base increases, the speed and quality of service will take a hit unless tata auguments the infra.
