Our 25 panasonic T.V. died last week. It was threatening for several weeks but it finally had no life left. My husband and I set off to shop for another set.
We were overwhelmed with the possible choices and the price range. There are 25 inch T. V. sets ranging in price from $200.00 U. S. Dollars to $600.00. Whats the difference.. !.
Some T. V. sets have a flat screen thereby giving a very clear picture.
Some T. V. sets have a picture in picture feature which allows you to watch one show while keeping your eye on another one.
Some are HDTV ready.. which means they are high density ready. HDTV is a feature enhancing the shows and will be featured in broadcasts in the future.
Some T. V. sets are digital with two lines and three lines. In all my travel between stores no salesperson could explain the benefit of three line digital over two line.
Some T.V. sets have surround sound which delivers a clear and lifelike sound.
We had decided to buy a larger screen T. V. so we did comparison shopping at various stores. Now the decision was.... should we buy a 27 inch or a 32 inch set. I had just about decided on a 27 inch JVC set when a 32 inch Hitachi caught my husbands eye. He liked the picture on that set much more than any of the other 100 or more sets we looked at so the decision was made. We looked up the rating on this particular T. V. and it had an outstanding rating so our minds were at ease.
It can be very confusing shopping for a new T. V. set. There are so many variables that you have to shop with a note pad to copy down all the features and the prices. It should be noted that at many of the big named stores the prices are not written in stone. That is, often the ticket price is not the price you will ultimately pay. Frequently, there is a bargaining range at which you will get your selection at a lower than sticker price. I dont know if that is true world wide but in Florida there is a wide range of pricing. Here again, the buy must beware that they are getting the item they want at the best possible price.
Our Hitachi has a picture in picture feature, is HDTV ready and has surround sound. So far, we are absolutly thrilled with our selection. The color is spectacular and the sound is crisp and clear. Ill keep you posted as to how our television serves us.
