Back in the old days there was TV and then some more...TV////today there are a wide varieties of TVs with wide ranges....there are DLP TVs, there are back projection TVs...there are LCD and there are plasmas and there is our own CRT type tv.....thank god.....if you think that is the end hey no......like how in every walk of life there are new designs and new inventions...there is a new concept called the OLED (organic light emitting diode) it consists of an emissive organic material, that when supplied with an electrical current, can produce a superior full color flat panel display.Oh if you think it is new then...naaaa...these displays are already used in Kodak EasyShare LS633 and of course Kodak invented it...now for usage in big screen (big enough for our homes) Philips of course is working on it and that is how the cookie crumbles....let me tell you about our Old CRT TV if you are buying a TV screen size does not matter and your viewing arrangment is, lets say less than 5 feet (which is the norm in mumbai citi apartment) then make sure that you purchase a FLICKER FREE or a tv that has a 100Hz digital scanning mentioned in its user/tech manual (this kind of TV are also good for a DVD player with a progressive out scan since then and only then will you be able to watch the effects on video as to what exactly is progressive)....this will prevent pain in your noggin (head) after prolonged viewing....otherwise for normal viewing you can choose... (which is a viewing distance of more than 5 feet).... any TV but my suggestion check for SANSUI...(I am sorry to dissapoint you but SANSUI is GOOOOODDDD) these are the basics...if you wish to ask AAANNNNY kind of questions about electronics then let me know...I maybe late in answering but I will get there...trust me....too add up Nowadays I am working on noise cancellation since noise pollution is evading our enviornment......LOL my better half just read this and tells me to sell my Music systems......LOL
