I love watches and to me you can never have too many. I have dress watches in silver, glod, gold and silver mixed, inter-changable fake jewel bands, sports watches, cat watches, you name it I probably have it and can never resist another. I have several heart shaped ones as I love heart shaped jewelery.
I prefer less expensive watches such as a good standard brand-Timex. They are reasonably priced, last a long time, they really do take a licking and keep on ticking as the commercial says. I have dropped them, sat on them and just about everything else and have never had one give out on me.
I would rather pay less money and have more watches.
I do recommend a water proof watch so if you forget to take it off while washing dishes or it gets wet in the rain it will not ruin it.
Often I don’t wear much jewelery but the one thing I always want when I go anywhere is a watch.
I do not recommend plastic strap watches as they break easy or the snap together kind as I have lost watches this way. The kind I mean just clamps around your wrist and can easily fall off.
There is not much upkeep to a watch except to replace the battery when needed and to keep it cleaned. It should last you for years.
I have one that is on it’s 20th year and still going strong.
I also consider a watch as a fashion accessory and to have several for various types of dress will make you always in style. You can wear them on your wrist or they have some nice ones that are necklaces and even rings that are also watches.
Now and then I will splurge and buy a more expensive watch simply because I like the looks of it but can’t say they last any longer than a less expensive one.
Some people may want something like a Rolex which is very high in cost and to me is more of a status thing than anything else.
A watch should be accurate, waterproof and pleasing to the eye and to me that is all that is important but we each have our own thing that we splurge on so indulge if you feel the urge.
