Consume less-Live longer

Oil is essential for living and health.Off late we Indian are consuming more oil than we should.This is the reason that most of us are now facing the problem/prospect of high cholesterol/triglycerides and thickening of artries.


It is high time we should cut the intake of oil in our daily diet.This is easy to achieve, but requires lot of determination.


Calculate the consumption of cooking oil/ghee on monthly basis.Say if one uses five litres of oil per month for a medium family, start buying and consuming 10% less.ie 0.5litres.Next month the same should be done till the consumption is reduced to 30% in the third month.The intake will be 3.5 litres.Look for the benefits achieved by reducing the consumption.More active life, saving in cash and less medical bills.


If our government is serious about the health of our nation specially the affluents, it should should stop importing cooking oils and educate masses about the hrmful effects of fried nd greasy food.This will save lot of money on National health program and investment in hospital beds leading to  savings in countries resources.
