Thumbs down

With a name like that, you would think the place held something. But you would be sorely disappointed.

Buzz situated in the PVR-Saket complex, has seen better days. Considered hip & happening & the place to be seen in when it initially opened(Honestly, having gone there at that time also, I didn’t quite understand what the ’’buzz’’ was all about), the place needs to pull up its socks, considering the competition it has in the complex itself, not to mention the numerous pubs mushrooming all over the city.

Well, my last visit to the place was & wil be my last visit to the place. The place is rather small. The bar & DJ console all squashed into one floor. It has a rather claustrophobic feel to it. The decor is nothing to write home about. To be fair, it is nothing great, but not bad either. Average is the word I was looking for.

As you enter, you expect the manager present to escort you to a table, as & when it gets empty. But keep no such notions. It is a free-for-all. Whoever grabs the place first, sits. Doesn’t matter if you jump queues. The manager also will just gesture hopelessly & be of no help.

When you do manage to get a table(how you get it, could be subject for another review altogether) you wait for the waiter to materialise. When he does, it will take him time to register that you’re not ready with your order, because he hasn’t given you the menu. The menu comes, the order placed. The good thing about BUZZ is the quick service. Our drinks were there within minutes of us ordering them. The snacks took a little longer. & the wait wasn’t worth it. There was nothing unusual about the snacks or the drinks. It was pretty much the same fare with exotic names. & for the price you pay for them it was definitely not worth it. Make that in capitals...DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT.

The music was typically commercial & loud. My friends claimed to have heard better from the DJ on another day. Just my luck, I guess.

So, to sum it all up...small space, average decor, even averager(I know this word doesn’t exist, but make some allowances for a novice) drinks & food(I don’t think I mentioned that there was more salad & artistically cut veggies in our order of nuggets, than the nuggets themselves), fast service, (maybe) good music but no value for money.

P.S. I give my official product rating as 1 1/2, though I’ve marked 2.
