Yeh that’s right. SPCE-The place to Be In.
I appeared in my state entrance exam for engineering and got a nomination to Maharashtra and whether you call my luck or destiny I landed at SPCE.
Nothing could have been more better then this, though the initial 6 months went for a toss with not many friends around and home sickness ruling the heart so at that time I was one of those regular students slogging with my assignments.
But SPCE was not all about this, it had more to it and its final aim was not to make me just an engineer but much more then that.
Things started looking better with our first Inter-college fest SPACE where working as a volunteer for the fest gave me friends, interaction with seniors how to deal with studies and more things.
Things never looked back again though a the first SPACE was followed by a round of AT-KT’s but things got managed.
SPCE undoubtedly is the best place to study with its excellent facilities available.Nothing to beat the library with a store of books n journal which keep getting updated.The facilitites are excellent ranging from hi-tech computer labs to lathes, motors, civil labs. And what can you expect more, you work in the workshop on smithy where coal is burning at 800 centigrade and you actually melting the metal to molten.
SPCE lets you keep a complete balance between your studies and extra-curricular events.On one side you are slogging on your assignments and studies but on the other side you have plenty of activites which help you groom better.
Starting with the Techno -Break (intra college fest), SPACE, followed by cricket season and college magazine you get lot of chances to show your skills.
You have variety of events like dumb charraded, stock watch, creative writing, fine arts, choreography, fashion shows that I feel its a chance for everyone to show what they master on.And what more you want, you get to organise and manage these events thus improvisng you people managment and managerial skills.
Not to forget the college elections where you actually got the democracy to vote for your candidate.
This was college..but there’s more to it moment you leave the gates of SPCE after leaving your 2 favourite haunts within the college i.e reading room and the slabs next to the gate. You get to see the the managers from SP Jain and the colorful crowd of the Bhavan’s College.
Not just that, a lot of food joints around the campus. I think Gupta ji’s vada pav are still the best you can get. And the great south indian and chinese meals with a combo of FLS (fresh Lime Soda) and FLW (fresh Lime water) from shetty’s corner which well fitted our pockets.
There’s a lot to like about SPCE right from bunking to slogging, don’t find anything to dislike.
People if you are looking forward to be engineers then I feel SPCE is The right place to be in as after 4 years of graduation you won’t be just a B.E. but a more capable person to tackle with the outside world.
