The ugly Carbury Crackle

I have had a bitter experience on 12th of Feb 2007 following a purchase return related incident in the Reliance Fresh outlet at Teynampet Chennai.

11 02 07 - 1:30 pm:

Cadbury Crackle Bought for my Children at Reliance Fresh outlet Teynampet

11 02 07- 2:00 pm:

I return a packet and get replacement  without record as portion of the chocolate found was missing by feel of hand even without opening the pack

I also complain that I got 2 pieces of ginger billed as 202 grams & question them on the accuracy of the scales. They weigh and find it to be around 40 grams and raise a cancellation bill and return Rs 2/- to me with record signed by me

12 02 07 – 8:30 pm:

We open the chocolates at home and find them unappetizing / inedible

The production & expiry dates well within limit.

 Batch code: T01 W7 T1 mfg: 01/07 exp: 01/08

12 02 07 9:15 pm:

Reliance Fresh approached & the customer help desk refuses to refund me citing it was replaced once on 11 02 07 and cannot be entertained any more as chocolate was “opened”.

(unfortunately I don’t know how to find a defective chocolate without unpacking. Neither am I the Superman or Shakthi maan with the coveted x-ray vision!)

Upon / amidst arguments I prove that the stock in their store is also equally defective by pulling out a chocolate of same batch T01 W7 T1 & opening it. Still the sales man refuses replacement citing his telephonic discussion with manager Mr David

I leave the store in shame worrying that the indian customer/consumer can never get easy justice even for such a trivial thing like a piece of chocolate!
