Best Ad campaign - Kya swad hai Zindagi ka...!

Remember the lyrics -

**Kuch Khaas hai. zindagi mein. Kuch baat hai. zindagi mein.******Baat hai. Khaas hai. Kuch swad haiiii .******Kya swad hai zindagi ka. Cadbury Dairy Milk - THE SWEET TASTE OF SUCCESS!**

*****and indeed Cadbury had a sweet taste of success with sales sky rocketing all time high for the chocolate maker.

I remember I was a kid and used to run to the TV room as soon as I heard this ad campaign start. It was a mesmerizing ad with the lady. [ If my Knowledge search is right her name was Simone. ] jiving towards the ground from the stands. as her boyfriend hits the six. Oh! she was epitome of beauty. ahem. back to the topic. and police Wallas trailing behind her. and the way his boy friend blushes as her notices her act. **What an iconic ad!*

Well, according to me this was one of the most defining ad campaign in the history of Indian consumer goods advertising. Cadbury dairy Milk became a brand in itself - It became a gifting standard from a mere chocolate.

It was during late 90’s when the ad agency felt it was time to move from India to Bharat if the company wanted to seriously expand its reach. So for the first time, Cadbury opted for Hindi in its campaign kya swad hai zindagi ka campaigns made Cadbury a household name in the country. That was the period when “the brand broke all age barriers”, prompting Cadbury to introduce the Rs 5 Dairy Milk and increase its distribution to the smaller towns.

And as usual. it is fond part of my growing years!

Hope everyone of you get to taste the sweet success in life.:)

Signing off - Ashutosh.
