Its just Olive Oil, they say

A new restaurant for the health freaks at Bangalore. I had read in some paper that they used very less oil in their preparations. I wanted to go to this place for quite some time and went there on Sunday with a couple of my cronies. It is located at Koramangala. You need to enter the road leading to Hotel Empire and go further down and take the first right, leading to Jyothi Nivas college. If you are a guy, you can take some time off for some visual feast here. If you are a gal, you can go STRAIGHT ahead. I leave it to you :)

Once you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by the cheerful looking waiters. Since we were there for the first time, a guy came up to us and explained their cooking. No oil, a few drops of olive oil for the gravies, and palm sugar and honey instead of the usual sugar. The menu is quite limited though and the prices are a bit on the steeper side. The lunch menu (meal) offers “4 shots of juice, some nuts, rotis, rice, dal and gravy with curd”. Since we didnt have a meal option, we chose the dinner combos along with garlic spinach soup and corn sheek kababs.

The soup and kabab was good. I had ordered Paneer Jalfriezi, which came with a couple of wheat rotis and corn and cucumber chat. It was very good and the paneer was very soft. As the guy said, there was no oil or atleast, the oil didnt stick to your fingers. My friends had pasta ana palak paneer combo and they didnt have any complaints either.

I had panagam to round of the dinner. It was okay. Not a patch on the panagam served in TamBrahm households though. The ambience is sparse. The cost, as I mentioned is on the steeper side as each dinner combo was priced at an average of 100/=. I found one thing funny in the restaurant though. The guy who explained about the oil less preparation had a huge paunch. Funny, no?? :) I need to have a go at the meal though.

Overall, I would recommend the place. Do take a dekko.
