CCD: Its definitely the in thing in about 50% of urban hangout areas. It started off really well, this chain - and some of their cafes are really good, to name a few that Ive visited :-
ABHM (Army Battle Honours Mess), Opp Taj Palace, SP Marg, New Delhi, Janpath, New Delhi, Mosque Road, Fraser Town, Bangalore, MG Road, Bangalore (have they re-opened?) Indore
And, then there are some really bad ones such as :-
Gwalior (City Center)
Cant think of any more. The service is generally ok - Id give them a 7 on 10... but the **music in most cafes is really bad, blaring and basically trash.
The coffee is ok - and the prices are reasonable (compared to say, Baristas); but on most occasions, barring the Chocolate cake, the snacks are pretty average.
The ambience in most cafes is really good, with plenty of plants and big glass window panes to keep things beautiful.
Overall, yes, Id recommend this chain of cafes to young people with average incomes. No, I wouldnt recommend it to hi-end customers : they have really high expectations which CCD may not be able to meet.
But personally, I met my wife a at CCD outlet; so Im pretty loyal to them. Moreover, theyre from Bangalore - so thats great: we dont need any more American food chains in our great country!
