What a place! I have been going to Sundance for over 17 years now, 3 - 4 times a year and never seem to tire of it. It started off as a college hang out for me and has evolved into a family eat out now.
Over the years the restaurant has drifted away from continental fare - which used to be great - which used to be on par with places like Paradise at Colaba. However the plain simple Chinese is nice and so are the Stroganoffs and the Steaks (recommend pepper steak - it is beef though). The sizzlers are worth a try too.
Having said that - for me the charm really lies in the fact that the waiters know me by now and I get a lovely smile and polite service whenever I go there. This is a place where the food is not the best but the overall feeling is great. You need to have time on your hands though. This is NOT a fast food joint.
The music can be indifferent at times and the air con can be patchy.
Another improvement over the Sundance of decades ago is that they accept credit card now!!!
If you are looking for a quick bite this is not the place but if your show starts 2 hours from now - then this IS the place for you. They are not hassled is you have a languid meal or if you have noisy kids.
Do try the Fresh Lime Soda during the meal and the Espresso after.
