CAG Pride is supposed to be a business class hotel, but this is the incident that took place at 5AM - one fine morning:
The night front desk guy explained that there was no "studio" room available (which we had signed up for) and offered us the double room until we got the studio room. But there was a catch that I did not notice - he was trying to charge us for TWO nights when we had actually signed up to stay there for one night. The guy spoke broken English and he got a signature to blank piece of paper - where you had signed your life away!!! After some questioning I could get the answer that he was trying to sign us up for two nights!!
Upon pointing out that we wanted to stay there for just one night - he gave us the following statement **"Can you stay out of the property until we are ready to give you the room!!" This audacious statement was made by a night front desk watchman guy who makes about 10K a month!!! I was flabbergasted by this statement and wanted to walk out of the hotel. But being smart, I tried to work with the guy and told him that we would come back later
Finally, upon pointing out that his behavior was highly unusual I was offered (he was hoping for some gratitude, when I actually wanted to slap the guy silly!) a double room until the studio room was available at 8AM. We actually called him about 8 times before he finally gave us the studio room at 11AM!! I had to cancel a lot of my appointments and the whole trip turned out to be disaster!
Few things you should keep in mind before you check-in:
- They will try and charge you for two nights when you had actually signed up for one night!!. Look out for some major surprises in your bill.- If you tell your complaints to the "night manager", he will nod his head endlessly and then he won’t do nothing about it!!- In general, be on the lookout for extra charges, you might come out poorer than you entered the hotel.
- If you want to get your pride hurt - Stay at CAG Pride!!! Otherwise, find some other decent place to stay! You will do well without the insults!!
