While in rome be a roman. while in bombay wear cambridge. I think cambridge is in the market even before I was born and to the middle class and intelligent people who pays for the product and not for the marketing cost of the company this is always the first choice. I think it is not available outside bombay and in a few places in gujarat (someone correct me if I am wrong) and people living out of these favoured places are the loosers.
they normally moves with the market. so you can get things which are latest. they have products suited for almost all tastes and budget. recently they have come up with cotton products which I find much better than most of the much highly hyped (and obviously highly priced) brands.
i must mention about another thing that I have noticed. I think their somewhat low price range is their main business lkine and in the process thay are normally identified with lower end of the market. when they have come up with higher priced products, they obviously faced image problem. so they don’t attach the cambridge logo (man with a briefcase) which is attched on the shirt pocket of lower priced products, on these higher end products. it shows their intelligence and market understanding. if they can maintain it i’m sure they will go along long way in future.
one word of caution is also important. in their low and medium priced range they use fabrics with high percentage of synthetic material. that makes it durable and handy for rough use but is quite painful in the humid climate of mumbai. so purchase cambridge, but be careful.
