Mumbai Under Fire!!!!

SERIAL BLASTS IN MUMBAI! HUNDREDS DEAD!

The story goes on….

A lot of blood! Much more news!

Kashmir tasted a bit and then Mumbai a lot of it. While we are sitting safely in our homes, do we realise that a few hundred miles away a kid awaits his dad, a wife her man and a mother her son; something many of them will keep doing for the rest of their lives. Tomorrow the world will wake up yet again, but I wonder if some of these Indians would sleep in the next few days or if life would ever be the same again.

Mumbai, being the dynamic city it is, surely would absorb the shock very soon. There would be the same old Page 3 parties and the common man would still have to fight the odds to survive each day. But then, is there a lesson to be learnt from all this, or should the memories be buried with the victims.

Someone will have to shoulder the blame. WHO? Our so called ‘representatives’ are so busy in creating news that they‘ve forgotten the very basic duties that they swore to carry out.  They seem to be more interested in settling their personal scores by finding out how much Amitabh Bachan earns or in securing the next election by asking the jungles of India to inhabit the IITs and IIMs. When we’ve got dumb asses telling us what to do and what not to, our future is anything but secure.

Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) – The Pakistanis must be laughing at us. No wonder, they partied and built homes at our peaks in Kargil and we could only desperately wave from 5000 meters below. Wake up India!! Do you make friends with people who are out there to suck you? They are already at arms, fighting a war against us, a proxy war – hitting us where it hurts the most. The sad thing is that we are yet to realise that and retaliate. Is this bloodshed not enough for the government to spring into action?

I am furious and this is the only medium to vent my anger. I feel choked at the very thought of what next. I cannot estimate the loss but I know that homes would no longer be filled with laughter, kids would drop out of school to fight for their existence, young widows would die crying and old mothers would starve. How can life be so harsh with them? What was their fault? Are they paying the price for being Indians?

This is certainly not the end. It is a beginning of something, though I wonder (and dread) of what. It is a question that time, Ms. Gandhi (she’s India’s boss) and General Musharraf would answer. The Pakistani CEO would surely condemn this. To which India ought to slap him hard and tell him to shut his big fat mouth.

All I can do is pray God to give strength to those people who’ve suffered for doing nothing. May these days pass off swiftly and the life ahead be a bed of roses. I know it wouldn’t be easy but then survival is the order of the day.

P.S.

As I write this, the death toll increases by the minute. Its 250 now and I wouldn’t be surprised if it doubled. Lalu Prasad Yadav is sympathising with the dead, announcing a compensation for them and promising to be in Mumbai within hours. Mr. Shivraj Patil, under the supervision of Ms. Sonia Gandhi is in an emergency meeting with Dr. Manmohan Singh. Seems very funny, Nah! While millions of Mumbaikars are left stranded on the streets trying to find a roof, these people are pondering as to what went wrong? I Wonder???????
