Good among Public sector Banks

I have my accounts with Canara Bank for the last 25 years. Compared to many of the nationalised banks it is definetly better managed bank. But once you experience the quality of service at private or foreign banks you wonder how you have been banking with them for so many years.


The only advantage the Bank offers is a sense of security of one’s money parked with them and wide network of branches. But in an era of electronic banking these advantages exist even in a single branch bank.


I have found the service woefully inadequate. My first credit card was Cancard and I continued to use it till I acquired a foreign bank’s card. You immediately notice the deficiency whether it is in its usability, customer service promptness or billing. I have now applied for SWADHAN ATM Card and not yet received it though 2 months have passed. This delay is unpardonable.


Of course they have been trying to improve their service by computerisation, teller counters, SWADHAN ATMs etc. However if you are not very much in need of Banking services and have all the time in the world and want to feel secure then only I recommend Canara Bank. But among nationalised banks I strongly recommend Canara Bank.
