This government bank, headquartered in Bengaluru, is one of the unreliable bank.
I was in bangalore for 3 years for my diploma course from 2011 to 2014. I signed up a bank account there and it was Canara Bank.
Being a student account there was minimum balance criteria of 1000 INR, which I feel unnecessary.
Net banking and internet banking is recently added. It was not there back then. Limited ATM machines are there all over India, hard to find. Poor maintenance of the machines is another factor
The main problem is that most of the time the cash remains insufficient. There was times where I didnt receive the cash due to insufficient amount, but they used to deduct the amount. Wrong deduction of money is another huge problem in this bank. For this I had to rush to the manager, with the receipt and I had to go through number of process to get my money back. Though I have faced it many times but got my cash back few times.
Customer service is also poor and unreliable.
If you are willing to open a new bank account then please dont opt for this bank.
