Silence is Awful Service!They do not respond- at least not to emails.
Well, also to letters.
Loyalty?My first bank was probably this as it was an account opened for me by my dad. After he passed away my sister and I tried to find out what to do about my dads account and we have received no response to letters.
Later I opened a joint account with my mom and after she passed away I wanted to inform them of the sad event and also keep in contact with my account- still no response.
Im now abroad but before leaving I had visited the bank with my mother and sister and the then manager seemed very helpful but alas I can now see that it was merely words!
I have tried to contact them by emails and via their website and my sister( who is in the UK) has often sent letters.
Not my Bank anymore At present I would not recommend this bank.
Update Some years back I visited Canara Bank in Gurgaon, near Sadar Bazaar. My husband was so furious at their slow ways and wasteful behaviour that he forced me to close my account there.
Im glad for I have seen their branch here in Pune also and it does not inspire any confidence in me.
However, my bai had a savings account opened for her in the Pune branch and they seem to attend to her well so Im happy.
Parting Shot This is a very old fashioned bank which has even lost old fashioned courtesy.
The bank employees are to be seen gossiping and have no consideration for customers. It may not be their fault as even in this millennium there is little or no computerisation.
Even so, at least the management should have some proper attitude so that clients can be retained.
The branches I have used or visited are: Pondicherry, Gurgaon and Pune.
Till date my father’s amount(roughly 50, 000) is still in Canara Bank. They have made no helpful move to help us get the money.
