Pure addiction but fun too!

I was not into computer, mobile, console games until I played Angry Birds and Candy Crush! I am an addict now! Well, this write-up is not really a review as such because I am not expecting readers to decide whether they would choose playing CC or not by reading this, however this is an attempt to let the readers know, what is the game all about and what plus/minuses it can have on your life.

Initially, I started playing Angry Birds very late while others already had moved to other games. After which my wife introduced me to CC and now I am playing a level way ahead of her. The game is pure addiction and a complete time-pass, when I have nothing else to do, like waiting for a friend or waiting for my food to arrive or even waiting in the car during make-shift parking, all I can think of is - taking out the cell phone and playing CC. I am playing at the level of 1052!

What is the game all about? The game is all about reaching targets by making combination of 3 or more candies. The targets could be like: achieving a particular score or collecting a number of combination candies, or bringing the ingredients down or simply clearing the jellies. One gets 5 lives initially while a new life gets added every 30 mins as you exhaust your existing lives. You can also request your friends on FB for new lives by sending them CC request. (This has become a nuisance for many people on FB as sometimes most people gets irritated with these unwanted requests.)

After completing set targets, you complete a Level and after completing few levels you complete an Episode. After completing an Episode, you need support from 3 friends (called Tickets) to push you to the next Level. The other alternatives are - purchase ticket or play Quests (another 3 competitive games) - if you do complete these 3 games, you are then moved to the next Episode.

I gradually got hooked the game so much so that I have learnt all the tips and tricks of it.

Tips: There is a fortune wheel that comes below the golden bars, which you can rotate once daily and earn free boosters. The golden bars can be used to purchase moves etc. Also, for some games you get Sugar-drops, after collecting a certain number of them, you get lot of boosters which can be used tactically to meet your targets.

Trick: Once you are exhausted with your lives, you can go to Settings/Date-Time of your phone, remove the’auto-set’ for Date and set the date to next day’s date. Then you go back to CC, open it, go inside and you will see 5 new lives added. Now quit the game, go back to Settings/Date-Time and set it back to’Auto-set’ (it will default to today’s date). Then go back to CC and enjoy your new set of 5 lives. You can keep on repeating this cycle as many times as you want. Remember though, if you do not set the date back to today and don’t follow the above sequence, you will exhaust all your lives which you would have otherwise earned every 30 mins and the next time/day you open the game you would say a huge time difference it would ask you wait until you get your next lives.

What’s new? CC have tried to make the game interesting by introducing another type, where there is a bird sitting (called Odus) on your right hand top corner balancing two types of candies and you have to play the game, to reach the target by maintaining the balance of those two colored candies. In case the balance tilts to one side, the (Odus) falls down and you lose the game. This isn’t very interesting though and I still like to play the traditional game.

What effect it has on your life? Besides, you wasting some time on this game (that is how some people think) I somehow feel the game always tells you never to lose hope in real life too. I have won games, on the last move, or even without realizing that I can win or even without slightest of hope of winning! The game just tells you - don’t give up and keep on trying! Also, though I have completed more than 1000 levels in this game, it just keeps me going to discover and know what is more interesting lying in the next level!

What I don’t like: Those ticking bombs, which kind of keeps you under pressure to diffuse them before one of them bursts and end your game and those chocolates which keep growing one by one with each of your moves and slowly and steadily covers your play area and you have nothing else to do but lose the game - both these tells you in life, try to get rid of all your bad things/wrong doings/worries right at that moment, one by one instead of allowing them to pile over and take control of your life!

Call me crazy or whatever you would like but I love this game and only a fellow CC player would understand what I mean!
