I am writing this review here because Canon A460 is not listed in the models. I own a Canon Powershot A460. My two friends had the A430 and A450 and I had the opportunity of using them before I broght one for myself. Alas!, I was a bit hasty to make that decision and now I regret it. Agreed compact cameras may not run for a life time. But if it fails just after the warranty expires you cannot say it is a good product.
The picture quality of the camera is amazing. it catches all the shades except pink accurately and vividly. The magnified closeup in this model is a gem. So of the photos I have taken with this camera have ben in print although it is just 5MP camera.
A year or so after buying the camera, it started showing exposure problems. There was overexposure and the images were dull. when I looked in the net for hints I understood that it was a common problem. A wire or switch fails leaving only video to work. All photos are overexposed with lines in the pictures.
I took it to the company service center who said they would repair it for Rs.2500 and kept it with them for 4 weeks telling part not available.
So I enquired with a friend who had an a430 that I had used and which was the reason I bought this one. he too had the same complaint and recommended an ernakulam repair centre
When I went to the service centre they charged me Rs.250 for safe keeping charge(Cheats!). So the ernakulam center repaired it for Rs.1200(half the company rate) and it worked for an year and now it is down with the same problem.

I love this camera. great pictures, great utility but.
I’ll never buy a canon product again.
