I have been using various cameras as I am a professional photographer. For anyone who is beginner, such type of cameras are best suited. They have all the beginner level functions and their UI is very friendly for beginners. There are some varieties of beginner level DSLRs, let’s talk about the Canon 1200D,
This camera is available online/offline markets in India, Its price segment is reasonable for beginners in photography. My observations on different aspects of Camera are as follows.
1) Picture Quality: As this camera comes with 18MP sensor, the picture quality is not that much in detail when used with the kit lens ( 18-55mm is-ii) . The sensor is not that much equipped to capture the light in low light conditions. Otherwise, the performance of Camera with kit lens supplied is good. IS-2 feature is not that much useful with small lenses. If you are using big zoom lenses then its useful. Otherwise it drains your battery.
2) User Friendly: As this camera is beginner level camera, it’s not much user friendly. If you were previously using other cameras like point and shoot, you might take some time to understand and go through the settings and UI of the camera.
3) Shutter speed: when shooting on higher shutter speed ( ex. 750) , in daylight it works fine but higher shutter speed makes the image quality bad in low lights. Increased ISO adds noise in pictures.
4) Battery Life: it’s the bad part of this camera, battery lasts for 4h of shoot, but after a year of usage its performance gets low and you will have to change it. Hope this camera could have the improved battery life.
5) Value for money: As you all know Canon is higher brand in Cameras who makes high end professional cameras like mark 5d but for beginner level cameras Canon is bit unattentive. So Price is high but value of money you get is low.
