I have my own canon Rebel XT, I bought it because I got best deal on it.
Actually I was looking for Rebel XTi.
Canon is the king of SLRs, they have wide range of lenses.
Canon has service centers in India and is recognized almost everywhere in world.
I have the basic kit, I want to buy a telephoto lense.
The picture quality is good.
The camera has basic modes and advanced modes for taking pictures and many settings.
However India is full of dust.
SLRs have a problem of getting dust spots in pictures, because lense needs to be removed.
The maintenace is costly if you do not have warranty.
I did not buy warranty.
Need to also look after a case where I can keep the camera with the lense attached.
The camera with attached lense is big in size so not an easy carry.
+ point is that SLRs do not give red eye effect even in closeups or distant pictures.
