The Canon EOS 400D also known as the Rebel XTi is one of the best DSLRs today. I am a armature photographer but yes I know my equipment well. I wanted to upgrade my camera for a long time so did intensive research on the web before making my decision. The Canon EOS 400D can do wonders to how you click pictures. The quality can be compared to any top end professional DSLR that was available a couple of years back.
The camera has some amazing features like a Internal sensor cleaning system as soon as you switch the camera on. The 10 mega pixel sensor is great and the camera gives you the power to shoot anything from an ant to an airplane even with the standard 18-55MM lens. The best part is that the camera is compactable with hundreds of Cannon lenses and some very cost effective 3rd party lenses. What I love about my Canon :- Everything to be true.
The speed of clicking pictures is good.
The automatic and other modes like Portrait, Landscape and close up are perfect. Though I love using the Manual Mode.
3.On-chip noise reduction circuitry on CMOS sensor works really well.
4.DIGIC II Imaging Processor id the best available at this cost.
The nine point focus gives one the power to shoot vary crisp and sharp pictures. What I don’t like about the camera is :-
the body is a bit too plastic specially the Black one. Though Its a camera not a showpiece.
The Neck belt is good quality but could have been broader though it is inexpensive.
Canon could have broken the Lens barrier by providing a better lens from 18-55MM to may be 18-75 Lens.
