Cannon EOS700D is flagship entry level DSLR camera. Cannon included some creative features to attract the first time users and those looking for upgrade. The camera is bundled with very responsive capacitive touchscreen along with 18-55 f3.5/5.6 lens. So how it works lets find out.
Design: The first thing I noticed is it’s much lighter weight than its previous generations. The frame is very pretty and smaller in size which makes it easy to carry for holidays and treaks too. The body of stainless steel covered in polycarbonate resin makes ot capable to withstand the challenges of day to day photography. The controls are well placed and easy to access and tilt touchscreen display adds the heartwinning look in design. The bottomside of camera have tripod mount and battery only. Overall the design is petite and impressive.4
Features: As mentioned earloer its a flagship entry level DSLR. I put it under some great tests like late night photoshoot, speed shooting, baground blur etc. overall camera performed very well for entry level segment. Camera can capture images in JPEG as well as RAW format.You would have to use high speed card so as to avoid the bottleneck while taking shots.On Mode dial, you can choose between AV, TV, M, P, SCN, HIGH SPEED SPORTS, MACRO, A+ , CA, NO FLASH. Which gives you freedom to shoot as professional.
Image Quality: I have been using high end DSLR as my primary camera so I didn’t have expections from entry level camera but image quality of CANNON 700D is suprisingly good. Video quality is also decent with really silent auto focus.
Battery Life: As promised by Cannon it end upto 400 shots I also will give it the same. On 5 days trip to western ghats ( konkan in Maharashtra) I only need to charge the battery once inspite of heavy use. Those relatively minor issues aside, CANNON 700D is good overall package. Though I strongly recommend one must not be dependent on only 18-55 lens if willing to explore and take lot of shoots. Here you have to spend some extra bucks for high specification lens.
