Exactly what I had in mind, when I set out to buy the camera. I did lot of research and figured out that 5.0megapixel+ ( market has 7.2 and what not..) is not necessary. 5.0 is just too good for your use unless you are a professional.
I surveyed on websites and shops, looked for variuos brands and finally decided on ’’IXUS Digital IXUS 50’’
Most compact of the lot ( we call it chotu :-) , 3X optical zoom, direct print option, USB....so on...more technical features you can get on websites..I am not writing all that..
The best part is ease of use...if you are a more into photography, you could do amazing things with it, as in change modes...night, sepia, b/w, flash, cloudy, underwater...Bottom line is that a regular user like me would find if convenient to use...view pics in TV, PC..take high quality of print outs.
The other option is the video which was really impressive from the nikon range the shopkeeper compared it with. I was not really particular about the video as I have a handycam.
Comes with default 16MB chip, but in any case you would need to upgrade it to 256 or 512..
