Hi, This is my third review in this site. As the title suggest , I want to share my experience with you regarding Canon Pixma ip 1000 . This review is for all of those who want to have an affordable printer which will least pressurisse their purse but still provide quality print out and that too at economy. I have earlier tried epson & lexmark but not satisfied with them. I am using this printer for one year+.First I will mention the pros & then cons.
PROS. :
The price of this printer is at lower range making it a must buy candidate for students and people hardly dreaming to own a printer. If they do take the decisin to buy they will definitely not be cheated.
Superb print speed almost uncomparable.
The cost of original cartridge is lowest for canon as compared to epson, hp , lexmark. One can use Amkette catridge instead of refilling your cartridge as it will cost Rs. 20 or so more. This will reduce your printing cost to 50p. per page. and in custom mode where you can choose to print at lowest of ink it will reduce your cost to 30p. per page. All ofcourse in black printing.
The above economy mode of printing will not only save your pocket but will deliver readable print out which I guarantee epson or lexmark cannot give you.
Good print quality.
Cons:
the printer produces much sound than any other printer of same segment.
READ THIS CAREFULLY if you keep the printer running i.e on , without giving it any job to print, it will clean its head at an interval of 5 or 2 minutes and this will result in huge ink loss. Even if you donot print but keep the power on ( green led lighting) for a month or less for a hour daily, both the cartridge will run out. So only switch it on when you assign a job to it.
AGAIN READ CAREFULLY, there is a tool in maintenanace section called DEEP CLEANING if you use it for just sake of using an inactive tab it will reduce your ink level by 50% or more , So it is advisable to not to use it untill all other methods are exhausted.
CONCLUSION : If one can take care of above 2 & 3 cons I think this is the best PRINTER IN ECONOMY SEGMENT easily defeating Hp and Epson.
